Recorded live and in one take at The Creamery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on September 27th, 2023. We should have filmed it, but we didn't think that far ahead.
"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" was written by Bennie Benjamin, Horace Ott and Sol Marcus, first recorded by Nina Simone in 1964, and then made a transatlantic hit by The Animals in 1965.
"I Want To Take You Higher" was released in 1969 by Sly and the Family Stone on Epic Records. Sly also wrote it.
"Contact High" was written by Ike Turner and released by Ike and Tina Turner as a B-side to their 1970 cover of (coincidently) Sly's "I Want To Take You Higher", on Liberty Records.
